Raising the Standard of Trustee Education is a bold new project which aims to improve the quality of education, training and learning for all trustees of pension schemes in the UK. But we need your help!
Raising the Standard of Trustee Education is a campaign that is owned and run by volunteers from the trustee community and by professionals across the pensions industry. It is supported by the Pensions Management Institute, and volunteers work with fellow trustees and professionals on project teams.
The RSTE campaign seeks to source and compile information and guidelines appropriate to trustees of all UK pension schemes - large or small, DB, DC or hybrid - and make it publicly available via this web site, free of charge. None of the guidelines would be mandatory,
but would come with the approval of the senior individuals and organisations involved in the campaign, and of the key industry institutions which support it.
The first guidelines for trustees and pensions industry practitioners will be available in November 2008: click here if you'd like to be notified when they are available.
The campaign is working on three distinct projects:
Ambition: To develop effective communication practice between trustees and pension industry professionals.
Ambition: To set guidelines about what trustees should expect from training and everybody who delivers training. This project would provide a set of guidelines and other information with the goal of informing trustees and their trainers about what makes trustee training effective.
Ambition: The goal of the Trustee Support Working Group is to work with The Pensions Regulator to create a set of documents and tools to support trustees in their role
